Historical context
Before widespread networking, floppy disks were a major medium for software distribution and file transfer in homes, schools, offices, and software exchange. Brain (1986) and other boot-sector viruses made removable media a significant historical security concern.
This lab focuses on physical media movement and state transfer. It intentionally does not reproduce startup behavior, bytes, offsets, or operational mechanisms.
